Today, those values remain as our bench-mark for success. As a subsidiary of China Aerospace International Holdings Ltd., Hong Yuen specializes in the manufacturing of high-quality printed circuit boards for Chip On Board and Surface Mount Technology applications.
In our drive to enhance productivity, we have adopted management principles that embrace scientific and technological advancement. Thus, we have invested a great deal of effort and capital in upgrading of our production facilities and improving the quality of our human resources. For years, we have focused on four strategic policies in order to remain competitive, these are: maintaining a cost /performance effective production base in Mainland China, rigid enforcement of TQM, generating a well-managed cost control policy, and continuously improving our operating efficiency.
Overall, our strategy is working. Although the responsibility of manufacturing operation has been shifted to over 300 dedicated workers at our 120,000 sq. ft. Dongguan plant since 1995, a core staff of 30 has remained in Hong Kong to serve our marketing, customer services, purchasing and finance function. And as of the year ending 31 December 1997, we reported a substantial increase in profit. When it comes to the manufacture of Thermosonic Gold Bonding and Ultrasonic Bonding PCBs, Hong Yuen is one of the market's key players. You'll find Hong Yuen customers just about everywhere -- in the USA, Japan, Europe, South East Asia, Worldwide ! -- around 95% of our products are exported.
