Guangdong Electric Power Design Institute (GEDI) was founded in 1958. Since then, it has undertaken comprehensive design and survey work in Guangdong province for fossil-fueled power projects, substation projects, transmission line projects, power system dispatching and communication projects and Guangdong electric power planning. GEDI is one of the first design entities to be conferred license to be engaged in nuclear power station design in China. It is also one of the first design entities to conduct 1000MWe nuclear power station feasibility study and explore the localization of the nuclear power engineering.
