Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps 7th Agricultural Division is located at Kuitun City, to the north of Mount. Tianshan and southeast brisk of Zhungeer Basin. The second Europe-Asia continent bridge (from Lianyungang to Rotterdam) passes through the city which grants it great convenience in transportation. The Kuitun cultivation area where the plant is located is sufficient in heat and lighting resources due to the continent climate in the high-latitude region which is characterized by little rain and dryness. Because there is much less diseases and insect pests, the cotton grown here is purely white in color and good in fiber length and is counted as the best cultivation area for cotton among the four cotton growing areas in China. The 7th Agricultural Division mainly grows " continent cotton" such as Xinluzao 6 (or 5), Xinluzao 7 (822), and Xinluzao 8 (1304) which have obvious advantages as compared with others. Statistics by the plant show that combed yarn of 40 or higher counts for knitting is best welcomed by customers. The 7th Agricultural Division has ownership over 10 farms and 14 cotton processing plants and its advanced equipment could be counted as the highest level in Xinjiang and even the whole state. The annual output reaches 2 million picul of lint cotton and more than 10,000 tons of short fiber.
