For further information visit our website: www.bovogen.com Australia is only one of six countries that are in the lowest risk category for bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) as declared by the European Union. In addition, Australia is free of List A bovine diseases, including foot and mouth , as defined by the World Organization for Animal Health (Office International des Epizooties). These diseases are those that have the most serious socio-economic and public health consequences.

Bovogen's bovine serum albumin (BSA) is manufactured using bovine plasma of 100% Australian origin which has been collected using strict hygienic practices. Blood is collected from animals which have been inspected by Australian Government veterinarians both ante- and post mortem to ensure that only blood from unconditionally approved animals are used for the preparation of plasma. Sourcing of the raw material is done only from accredited USDA and/or EU abattoirs, which provide full animal origin traceability.

Plasma is processed in Bovogen's manufacturing facility under full GMP and ISO9000 conditions using a proprietary manufacturing process. This incorporates a heat shock step that delivers a BSA fraction with a typical purity in excess of 98%. Certain steps in the manufacturing process have also been shown to eliminate or inactivate potential viruses and bacteria.

Each batch of BSA manufactured is fully tested against specification and a certificate of analysis provided with each consignment. Certificates of animal origin and animal health can be provided upon request.
